Q: Why are my sewing machine stitches faulty?

Are you having trouble with your stitches when using a sewing machine. Here’s a few possible causes and solutions to help you on your way.

Causes:

  • A defective needle
  • Wrong size needle
  • Missed out a step in the threading Presser foot tension too tight or too loose.

Solutions:

  • Replace with a new needle
  • Use correct size needle
  • Ensure flat part of needle faces the back of your sewing machine, push needle head all the way up the socket.
  • Re-thread machine carefully
  • If your sewing machine has a pressure control, adjust the control on top of the machine.
